Greene County Medical Center welcomes Mary Pedersen, ARNP Family Medicine, to join in practice alongside the current family medicine providers. Pedersen will begin providing services at Greene County Family Medicine Clinic in early November. She will provide care focusing on family medicine, pediatrics, adolescent medicine, adolescent wellness, physicals and immunizations, and more.
Pedersen is familiar in Jefferson and at Greene County Medical Center, having worked at the medical center in 2011 as a registered nurse and in the medical-surgical unit. She also worked at Greene County Schools as the school nurse for the past eight years.
She is a 2005 graduate of Jefferson-Scranton High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in exercise science- health promotion at Central College in Pella. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines, graduating with high honors. After graduation she continued working as a registered nurse in pediatrics at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. She completed her master of science in family nurse practitioner from Clarkson College in Omaha, NE, in 2021.

Mary’s experience as a school nurse in Greene County will serve a great benefit to our patients,” said medical center chief medical officer Dr Laurie Connolly. “We are excited for Mary to begin providing care for pediatric patients, as well as all patients. She will be a great addition to our clinic.”
